sapthabhashaa sangama bhoomi
Manjeswaram and Kasaragod district in the northernmost part of Kerala are famous as the "Sapthabhasha Sangamabhoomi" (the land where seven languages meet). Not only Malayalam, but also Tulu, Kannada, Konkani, Byari, Marathi and Urdu are widely spoken here. It is a rare place where different languages, cultures and religions coexist together.
Along with linguistic diversity, art forms like Yakshaganam, Theyyam, Oppana and Mappilapattu also enrich the cultural wealth of Manjeswaram. This land is a beautiful example of the intermingling of the cultures of Kerala and Karnataka over the centuries.
